Vocabulary

Scott and I are really enjoying this time in Geddy's life when he is learning to talk. He started a little slow, a new word every few weeks. He has never really been a nonsense talker, he usually only talks if he knows the word. He fills in the words he doesn't know with sound effects. Then he started doing about a word a week and starting to string a word or two together. The past few weeks he is just popping out with new words constantly. Last week while we were on vacation he mastered the letters F and S (he knows about half of his alphabet by sight). His favorite words last week were "yes", "umbrella" and "bath". The week before that it was "egg", "backpack", "gold" and "jam". Well this week he has already added at least six words to his vocabulary. "Dice", "book", "me" (used in the proper context), "honey", "bun", "dog" (instead of just saying woof-woof), and "black bolt" (comic book character). I find it interesting the words he chooses to say. I assumed that he would say the words he heard us say the most first, but we certainly don't mention gold, dice and black bolt in our everyday conversations.
(all the pictures are from our drive west - Geddy did pretty good in his car seat considering these were taken the first and longest day in the car (8+ hours)
