Geddy Has the Camera!

His current obsession. BATMAN!

It took me a moment to figure this one out, a page from a Lego instruction booklet.

He says he took this one just because it looked cool with the light showing through the blinds, "kind of like the striped part of a flag".

The significant part of this picture is the creatures tongue.Geddy has a bit of an obsession with looking for pictures of things with their tongues out, in books, TV shows, movies, etc... Kung Fu Panda has several:). Whenever he is playing with his Dad and he gets "defeated" he always falls over with his tongue sticking out - the classic pretend to be dead or knocked out pose. So this has led to him laughing hysterically whenever he finds pictures like this. 

The Triops and The Meat Eater

Aunt Carrie and Uncle Ben gave Geddy a very cool birthday present: Grow your own prehistoric pets - Triops! (Kind of like Sea Monkeys, but cuter).

 So the Triops were not as successful as hoped for. We followed all directions and had four hatch within a few days. Only two actually grew and they were quite different from each other and extremely cool looking. However, they only lived about a week, not the 6-8 weeks the package proclaims. The second batch of egg mix we put in yielded no live creatures. So now we have let the water evaporate and will try again soon to see if there are any more viable eggs in the tank. We loved them the short time we had them. Geddy named the clear one Love and the bigger, orange one was Cute.
Snapper on the other hand is thriving. We have had him since the first of July. We catch a bug about every three weeks and feed it. Geddy helps keep him misted with distilled water. He is quickly outgrowing his little pot and we hope to replant him soon. Hopefully that won't kill him. We also have to prep him for his winter hibernation. Who knew that Venus flytraps hibernate in the winter and actually flower in the spring. We will see if we can get Snapper to do so. Geddy is excited because he is absolutely sure that no one else in his Kindergarten class will be bringing a plant on Pet Day!

Geddy took off a little sooner than expected and wasn't fully on his carpet, but he loved it.

His favorite ride and a must every year. He calls it the Jurassic Park Ride.

He honestly feels like the jeep will crash off the course if he doesn't concentrate on driving it.
