So now I am finally caught up on the blog. Whew, I don't think I have ever posted that many times in one week before, maybe not even one month. I know I only post the fun and good stuff we do, but if this is truly to document our lives, I want to briefly explain why we hated 2011.
- January 30/February 1 - at 22 weeks, the baby was lost and Carol had surgery. (Ironic I had surgery to remove everything the day we were supposed to have the ultrasound to find out the gender).
- May - lots and lots of expensive car repairs, in the end it was good as our little Corolla with over 260,000 miles on it is still zipping us back and forth to work each day and getting great gas mileage.
- May - Carol got 9 stitches right between her eyes - thank you for the birthday present, Geddy.
- June - Geddy had surgery to remove and biopsy lymph nodes. Thankfully all benign, but still a stressful (and expensive time).

| Post-op - very angry and scared waking up, but still enough sense of humor to stick his tongue out like he always sees on cartoons when someone is feeling icky or has been defeated. |
- July - More expensive car repairs - this time on the Buick.
- August - Carol gets a severe sunburn while at the pool with Geddy - causing some skin problems that carried through to this month - I had to have a large bump frozen/burned off today with liquid Nitrogen - hopefully that will be the end of that.
- September/October - Scott has kidney stones. And more repairs on the Buick.
- October - our furnace died completely - it is an old obsolete brand so have to get a new furnace and a new water heater as well.
- November, Spanky starts getting sick and we think it is just old age. Eventually gets worse and after weeks of medication, and being boarded at the vet's while we were on vacation, he passed away at home on January 12. 13 1/2 years he was with us, no dog could have been as faithful a companion as that cat was.
- Add to all of this in our own household: various and numerous family members having surgeries, illnesses and other catastrophes as well. Sometimes it seemed like the list of people we were remembering in our prayers included every member of the family on both sides. Glad that almost everyone is healthy today and much improved over times last year. Prayers are answered, even if not always how we expect them to be,
That is why we are glad to be in a new year. Now if we would only start doing some fun things so I have something to blog about.
