Bathtime Chaos

 I don't typically like to post bathtime pictures. However, I couldn't resist sharing his creativity. 

 He covered the bathtub with "Chaos Faces". These are something that Scott has always done and he showed Geddy the other day. Just count 1..2..3.. then dash off the most creative face you can think of in just a second. So Geddy decided to put his bathtub crayons to good use.

"The Important Things in My Life" (Geddy)

Geddy asked to borrow the camera one day to take pictures of "the important things in my life".

The pantry. Maybe because that is where all of his puzzles and playdough and such is kept.

One of his many basketballs. He and Scott actually use this one more like a soccer ball in the house as it is rather flat and softish so doesn't hurt the house too much.

His favorite stuffed animal and friend, Shoshio Silly Kitty Hirsche, aka Shoshi.

His number two stuffed animal, Sphinx "Phinxy" Hirsche. Bought by Daddy at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Geddy chose the name Spinx because we stayed in The Luxor and Geddy thought that he was posed like the giant Sphinx outside our hotel.

His nightly companions for bedtime and his daily companions for an assortment of adventures.

A portion of his messy room (and yes he still has pink carpet). Since he took this picture his room became even messier and we had a bit of a discussion about it last Friday when I was cleaning it. He has promised to do a better job of cleaning up after himself. He has done a fabulous job for a whole week. I am very proud of him.

He did a pretty good job for a four-year-old who has never used a camera before. I particularly enjoyed how he "posed" his stuffed animals and basketball on the living room floor. And how he chose to individually take a picture of each sign on his door instead of just one of his whole door. He wants to borrow the camera again to take pictures outside. I will probably let him once it is spring and there is something more interesting to take pictures of than snow!

Surprise!

 I went to get in the shower the other day and this is what I found. Spanky has a strange obsession with our tub and shower though it is usually after we get it out of the shower, not before. For some reason he loves to lick the water out of the tub instead of drinking nice fresh cold water from the tap.

In these pictures I am trying to get a good picture of his hair. Geddy's hair is adorable when it is longer and rather shaggy. At least it is adorable for the first day after a bath when it is all cute and curly and lays relatively flat on top.

The problem is that I can't give him a bath every single day so it ends up looking like a chaotic mess. Some parts curl, some parts lay flat. There are some days I have to put on tons of gel just to make it look reasonable.

I realize this one is dark and blurry, but you can really see his curls surrounding his cute little head. Now if it always looked like this, I would probably keep it like this.

Look at that curly hair and rosy cheeks! In this picture he actually reminds me a lot of me when I was about his age.

 

I love this picture. It is so Geddy! In fact this is our desktop background right now because it makes me smile to come to our computer and see this. And those eyes. You probably can't tell when it is this small, but if you click it and make it bigger you can see what a strange color his eyes are. They are not blue, green or brown. I think the doctor was right when he classified them as gray.

 

Christmas Morning 2010

Smiling can be a challenge early in the morning. But he really was excited about his easel from Santa. He was really surprised though, he hadn't asked Santa for this. He actually had asked Santa for another stuffed kitty. I told him I wrote a letter to Santa saying he didn't really need a new kitty because he still had Shoshi. I suggested that Santa give him something to help him be an artist, as that is what he claims he is going to be when he grows up. (Along with a doctor and a basketball and tennis player).

Hi Real Construction set from Santa. He saw commercials for this and was super excited because it comes with real tools that cut the Real Construction Wood (aka foam), but not him so it is safe to use. He has built a small tree fort and a jet plane with the set so far (and mom's help). He also got the Moon Sand he wanted from Santa. Though if I had realized exactly hoe messy moon sand was, I probably would have suggested Santa bring something else instead when I wrote that letter.

Carefully opening the next package. Such a worrywart of a kid. As I was putting him to bed Christmas Eve his parting words to me were, "Mom, what are we going to do? All that paper is going to make a huge mess in our living room!"

His favorite present of the day - well one of them. He has wanted a pillow pet, and this dog in particular for ages. Somehow Uncle Ken and Aunt Liliana in Tennessee knew this and made him a very happy little boy.
