Easter

His bunny face and ears from Macey's Easter Hunt. The look is how he thinks bunnies look - quiet, not happy.
Scott thought it a good idea to take a picture of me with Geddy. Yippee!!

Just another cute bunny face.
In his room checking out his loot from Macey's.

Saturday morning. Not so sure about the Egg "Grab" Hunt at Wal-Mart.
I tried following the rules and staying behind the line, but I wasn't about to have Geddy miss out on it since we had been there so long. The three eggs right in front of him are the only eggs he got in the actual "hunt". Too many pushy parents and older kids (1-5 year-olds, whatever!) meant there was nothing left in thirty seconds. Geddy got quite separated from me in the throng of aggressive parents. When I finally spotted him he was bawling. Apparently he had found other eggs but someone had taken them out of his basket. Sneaky mom came up with a plan and we waited until people had settled down and thinned out. Then I told Geddy to look under the pallets (it was in the garden center). Sure enough, he found three more pushed under displays. He told me it was a lot more fun to find the ones actually hidden then the ones just laying around that people were grabbing. He also informed me that he never wanted to do anything like that again! I was glad because I was afraid he would get upset if I told him the same thing.

Excited Easter boy!
Having fun finding the three dozen eggs the Easter Bunny hid for him. Combination of real eggs, candy-filled plastic eggs, and empty plastic eggs from his collection.

Water guns, just what I have been wanting!

Easter is officially his third favorite holiday - Halloween and Christmas being better. He does appreciate the true reason for celebrating Easter as well. He loved the music and lessons at Church about the Resurrection. He enjoyed reading the story as well as watching a cartoon depicting the Easter story. We are thankful that it isn't all about the candy for him.

Snooty cat that wanted to be in the middle of the egg hunt.

Getting ready to attack the camera (and me) because he just really wasn't in the mood for getting his picture taken.

And you thought they could only be used as a hat?

The traditional underwear "hat".

"Feetcuffs" - I know, looks strangely similar to how you would put them on. But Geddy insists that when kept at the ankles you can't walk so they are "feetcuffs".
His personal favorite - handcuffs! (I sure hope he was using clean underwear!)

Mr. Artist

So I think Geddy has inherited a bit of his daddy's artistic ability. I know I am biased, but I think these are pretty darn good copies for a 4-year-old!

Two books from one of his favorites sereis, Mr. Men by Roger Hargreaves.

Geddy's versions. He did these in about one minute apiece. He tells me he can draw anything he is looking at:) I love how he started Mr. Strong and then realized he was making it to rectangular.

The Comfiest Racecar

Don't you just love his helmet and mask?

And yet another use for his water Frisbee!

How Geddy Entertains Himself while Mom is Sleeping

On Tuesday nights I work a really long night. I work from 4:15pm - 9:15pm at the library then I work at Smith's from 9:30pm - 5:30am. I usually get home between 6 and 6:30am. Needless to say I am quite tired when I get home. Do I have a kid that likes to sleep in? No! Geddy gets up between 6 and 7 every single morning - even if Scott keeps him up until 10pm hoping that will make him sleep in. So these mornings when I want (need) to sleep and Geddy is bouncing all over the house are quite interesting for us. I crash on the couch so I am at least in the same room as him and can kind of keep an ear on what he is doing. Being as the TV isn't much of a distraction for him he usually just reads, colors, plays in his room or the living room. Though his favorite occupation is to throw things at me and to see how many times he has to yell my name to wake me up. When I wake up and ask what he wants, he always says he just wanted to say he loves me or give me a kiss and hug, how can I get mad at that? I call myself lucky to get three hours of interrupted sleep. Last week was a pleasant exception. I think I had two hours of solid sleep! When I awoke I at first panicked because I didn't hear Geddy. He had apparently had a blast in his room as I couldn't see the floor and then he had moved on to the kitchen, and this is what he had been doing:
He had hung every single one of our hanging dishtowels on the oven door.

Gotten into his drawer of "stuff" and was checking to see if we had all the cards in each puzzle set.

And he had put together several of his jigsaw puzzles. (The other picture of his puzzles didn't turn out, there really were more than one).
I am so glad he is able to entertain himself and be such a big helper. He can be very trying at times, but he is such an amazing kid! Now I just have to keep my fingers crossed that there will be more Wednesday mornings like this one!

One Day Last Summer (I just found the pictures on my computer)

I looked in his room and saw this. Still not entirely sure where he even got the powder from. (And yes, I know he is a boy with pink carpet in his room - we will change it one of these days).

Uh-oh, somebody looks a little guilty!

All over the bed and all toys.

Markers and everything were dragged out of the cupboard to be doused in powder.

His drum set was lovingly sprinkled as well.

A little mad that mom was laughing!
Starting to see the humor of the situation!

Big Guy, Little Guy

My Big Guy and my Little Guy - ready for Provo Library's Annual "Big Guy, LIttle Guy" event. This year had a western theme. Geddy was bummed that I told him no guns were allowed (although he later pointed out that several other boys had theirs). I also vetoed the harmonica (too noisy and might get lost) and his sheriff star (doesn't stay on well).
Have you ever seen a cuter cowboy?!?! (Despite the footwear)

Love, love, love this picture. Though obviously this little cowboy wrangled with something that left a bruise on his forehead (the kitchen wall?). And I am not exactly sure why one tooth is glinting through his smile.

Before
After

P.S. Geddy would like to thank Aunt Beth and family for the cool cowboy shirt, Great-Grandma Darlene for the cowboy hat she gave him when he was one, Ross(store) for the cool jeans that make him look like a skinny-legged cowboy (no they are not Wranglers), and Wal-Mart (Mommy) for the belt (probably a good thing you can't really see it, Buzz Lightyear doesn't quite fit the Western theme, but if he wasn't there you would then be seeing Geddy's Optimus Prime underwear, which doesn't quite fit the theme either) and the bandanna (or banana or bib, whatever you want to call it).
Geddy wanted to be cartoonized by our Kodak Easyshare software.

Riding his Bike

Riding his bike over at the Church building. He loves following the sidewalk around

Enough bike-riding - now it's time to play on all the cool rocks around the building.

Sometimes I take for granted all the beauty surrounding us. It helps sometimes to be reminded that this is part of what I see from my house every day. That is a big part of why we bought a house where we did. This day while Geddy was riding his bike was just gorgeous and the mountains really stood out. We are pretty much surrounded by the mountains - I think you can see a glimpse of them in every picture of Geddy. This picture doesn't even come close to showing how amazing they are in real life. But I am thankful for such a spectacular place to live.
