Kitchen Adventure

Call me crazy, but I thought it would be fun to let Geddy help me make a dessert for him and Scott to have after their dinner tonight. Geddy is always more manageable when I let him do whatever I am doing. He was so excited and proud to be standing on that chair and helping me that I couldn't resist taking pictures.

"Let's go Mama"

The hardest part of letting him stir was convincing him not to spoon the crust mix into his mouth! (I did let him lick the spoon when we were done).

He wasn't too sure about the loud mixer at first. However, once I started moving it around he had to grab on and help too. His favorite part (okay second favorite part - see below for favorite part) was turning the mixer off and on.

And of course, the best part, licking the beaters! Yes, I licked the other one. Geddy wanted to save the rest of his for Daddy but I convinced him otherwise.

"Aaaaaaaaaaaaall done!" (Direct quote from Geddy).

We had a fun time and he actually listened quite well and didn't complicate matters too much. We will have to try it again before his helpful stage ends!

Isn't is sweet when they want to help?! Try it with three--it gets a little complicated (but still sweet).

Too fun! I let the boys help me make frosting (peanut butter) Monday for a cake I made when we had the missionaries over for dinner. Sadly, I hadn't planned in advance as well as you did and had the camera no where nearby when they were licking the beaters. Joshua is old hat at it, but it was a new adventure for Nathaniel. If I'd known where my camera was, I'd have grabbed it. N helped me fix dinner today...he moved pots from one cupboard to another and hid a rubber bat (the flying kind) for me to find in a dark cupboard :)
