Geddy's "Special" Valentine's Breakfast

When I asked Geddy what he was in the mood for this morning for breakfast, he replied, "Surprise me Mom, just make it special."

I think I succeeded! Geddy was a little teary-eyed with sweetness as he thanked me. (In case you can't tell, it is heart-shaped Cinnamon French Toast). And in case you were wondering after the last post...no, this was not enough for him:)

The Signs of a Growing Boy

Five signs your son is growing again:
1) He is eating you out of house and home at age 6.
2) The pants you bought him at Christmas are already too short.
3) He is sleeping 10-11 hours straight at night - for the first time in his life.
4) He asks to eat school lunch because he gets more food than I pack for him.
5) He just seems taller when you give him a hug and you pretty much can't lift him up anymore..
So what do you do when you see the signs? Why, measure him of course, even though you just measured him less than a month ago. And the results: Geddy grew 3/4" between January 18th and February 13th.

Summer Vacation pt. 3 - Preview

I just found this picture still on my camera from our summer vacation. I will be getting the rest of those photos up sometime in the next week. We got a new computer and I have the old hard drive with all of my photos on it in a case to use as our backup drive, just haven't got it hooked up yet. But in the meantime, I just love this picture!

Can we say Attitude....

 Sunday evening I was finally able to coerce Geddy into letting me cut his hair. This is a struggle I try to avoid, but it is inevitable every few months. Of course, he hates the clippers and he can't hold still for anything so there is always the possibility I will have to just buzz the whole thing - that is a lot easier to do on a squirmy kid than any kind of style. Somehow we managed to get a cute haircut on him and left a little longer on top. I tried to get a picture but he just wanted to give me some attitude. Plus as I was taking the picture he ran his fingers through his hair to mess it up. But you still get a general idea. The good thing is, this boy is so adorable it doesn't really matter what his hair looks like.

Like I said, a little bit of attitude!
