Graduation

He was waving to us pretty much continuously until the program started.

The pictures all turned out slightly blurry as the kids weren't holding still, we were kind of far back so I had to zoom in quite a bit and there were lots of other parents around jostling me. But you can still see the silliness that is Geddy.

Geddy is not in this picture, but that is his amazing teacher, Mrs. Evans!

Carol in Disguise

Last month there was a Children's Book Festival at the library. All the Children's staff were supposed to dress-up as a book character. I decided (with some help from Geddy) to be The Lunch Lady from a hilarious graphic novel series by Jarrett J. Krosoczka.

He wanted to be my sidekick!

There were also a few real book characters there.  Here Geddy is posing with one of his favorite Nick Jr. characters, Olivia.

Zoo Visit (Without Mom)

A couple of months ago I had the opportunity to attend ULA (Utah Library Association) Conference in Salt Lake City. We decided to make a mini-vacation out of it so I didn't have to drive back and forth two days in a row and try to arrange babysitting for Geddy. Scott and Geddy spent the days entertaining themselves and then we were able to spend the evening relaxing together and exploring the new City Creek Mall. They spent several hours enjoying the zoo, a place we never get tired of. In fact we will probably be going back before the summer is over so we can see the new polar bear exhibit!

Sleeping like a log at the hotel at the end of the day. Keeping him company are his old friend Shoshio Silly Kitty, Leelo the Leopard and his brand-new Snow Leopard, Spotty!

New Legos + XM Radio Free trial = New Obsession for Geddy (and a slightly crazy mom)

So it all started when Geddy got some new Lego sets from the Monster Fighters series. The monster fighter in the Swamp Creature set happens to look a bit like Elvis Presley.

When Scott made this observation, Geddy had to know who Elvis was. Scott obliged him with a few little snippets of some his better known songs. Geddy thought they sounded "awesome" so "Why don't we have any Elvis in our CD collection?" Good question?! A few days later while browsing around Target, Scott found a great deal on a 2-Disc Greatest Hits set. We have since played them many times.

Then a couple days later we discovered that we were getting a free trial of XM radio in our car. As we spent considerable time scanning through the 200+ channels, Geddy was ecstatic to find... Elvis Radio on XM 19! This became a must-listen to every day for a week as we drove to Provo. His greatest hope was that he would hear his favorite song in the car, I am not sure why this is better than listening to the CD at home? The song he most wanted to hear, "Blue Sweet Shoes"!

I was sorry to break the news to him that our access to the station ended. However, I was not sorry to not be listening to 20+ minutes of Elvis every day. Don't get me wrong, I like Elvis, but in small doses, a song or two at a time! And by the way, no matter what I say he will not accept that the song says Blue SUEDE Shoes!
