Like Father, Like Son (comics, action figures and of course, basketball)

Geddy has always shown an interest in Scott's comics. He has received free comics from various sources. We have let him have some of them, but they don't always survive. Geddy tries to be careful but it's pretty rare for a little guy his age not to tear things. He really wants to be like Dad though and he tries so hard to not rip or crease pages. Last week I finally decided to get a box that is his special box to keep his comics in. He is very proud of his box and only gets to have it when dad is reading his comics (or when mom wants to read a book). He is extraordinarily gentle with these comics. In fact, Scott said tonight Geddy went through the box and separated out the four or five that were in poor condition. He set those aside and put only the nice ones back in his box.

Last weekend was an exciting one for Geddy. Saturday was free comic book day at the comic shop so we all went. Spider-man was there!!!!! Geddy might be terrified of Santa, but not so with Spider-man. He followed him around and kept giving him high-fives. We should have pictures of that soon. When we were done there we went to Burger King for lunch as they have Iron Man toys in their kids meals. We all three got kids meals so we could get three different toys. One of them was this cool pair of Iron Man glasses.

His nose isn't quite big enough to hold them up, but he doesn't care, he's Iron Man when he has them on! Then the best part of the day was seeing the Iron Man movie. After sitting through half an hour of commercials, then about 10 trailers, Geddy was worn out and fell asleep in the first few minutes of the movie. This was fine with me as it takes a little while to get to the really cool armor and battle scenes. Geddy had amazing timing and woke up the moment Iron Man was putting on his red and gold armor. He got a big grin on his face (Geddy not Iron Man) and started clapping. He was great and watched the rest of the movie - though he was quite wiggly the last ten minutes, but then again, so was I.

When we got home that night we pulled out a variety of action figures for him to play with. A couple of them he wanted to pose with yesterday when I had the camera out. You can see them in the slide show. For some reason he picked the ugly one as his favorite. It's real name is M.O.D.O.K. (Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing) but for some reason Ged decided to call him Bob and Bob he is. He thinks he is sitting in a kind of high chair so when Geddy eats he wants Bob to sit on the table by his high chair and eat too. Silly boy!

Sorry, this is a huge long post. It has been a while since my last one and I can never decided which pictures I want to use. I probably should just do shorter ones on different days, but I never know when I am going to have time to sit down and blog I would rather get it all done at once. I spent all night on the computer at work so I hadn't planned on coming home and spending anouther half hour typing and uploading photos, but somehow I ended up doing just that. My allergies are back full force. I have had over a ten year reprieve from them thanks to many, many, many shots. (Thanks Mom and Dad:) Guess I will just have to let Scott mow the lawns from now on! This is the end for now, I plan on taking some much needed Benadryl and crashing. Hopefully Geddy will continue his record-setting behavior of all-night sleeping (so far he's done the last four nights, 10 hours straight). However, I am sure by just writing that he will waken often.

You're right, Carol--Bob is pretty creepy/scary looking! It's even more hilarious to me now that I know what the toy looks like. I can see how Geddy got the highchair idea, too. Ha ha! I love the iron man glasses and i loved this whole post! It was so entertaining. Never apologize for a long post--it's just more fun reading to do!
