Independence

Geddy was quite excited to be wearing shorts. He kept reaching down and touching his bare legs. I guess he doesn't remember them from last summer. You can't see them in the picture, but he is wearing some new brown leather sandals that he can actually put on all by himself.

I also bought him some Iron Man shoes (size 8!!!!!) that light up. He had seen the Iron Man shoes on a previous trip to Payless, but I told him his feet weren't big enough (size 8 was the smallest they made them). This time I had the employee actually measure his feet and they were right at the 7 1/2 line. So size 8 it was. I told him we could get the Iron Man shoes. He started jumping up and down while loudly saying "Iron Man, Iron Man, Iron Man". Needless to say we had to put them on the moment they were paid for. In case it wasn't obvious, Iron Man is his favorite superhero. Scott and I have given him several Spider-Man toys and books as well as The Incredible Hulk and Fantastic Four. But he decided he loves Iron Man the best! We even had to put the lid from his shoebox up on his wall like a poster because of the picture on it.

Last night Geddy was a bottomless pit. We had Teriyaki steak and rice and peas. He was still hungry so I gave him a peanut butter and honey sandwich. After that was gone he was STILL hungry so I gave him some pudding. I knew he would make a mess so while he was eating it I got his bath started. I was so sure he would have it all over his face and head that I came out with the camera and this is what I saw. Much better than I expected.
I left to turn off the bath water and came back to this. He couldn't get any more out with the spoon so decided to try licking out the little cup. Messy, but still nothing compared to what I had expected (think back to the yogurt pictures on an earlier entry:)
The bath revived Geddy, who had not taken a nap at all (two days in a row!!). He decided he had to play basketball and race around the house for another 15 minutes before he would settle down for his books and bedtime. But he then slept for ten hours straight! And yes this is his fake posing smile, now anytime he sees me with the camera he looks at it and fakes a smile.

Nathaniel LOVES the pudding on the face picture...he busted up laughing at that picture of "Gedo" (that seems to be what he's calling his cousin! Though the g comes out sounding more like a d).
