Well, life for as has been quite normal and uneventful lately. We were excited to have nice weather for the weekend. I am glad we were able to get out and enjoy it as we had snow again Tuesday. Gotta love Utah weather! Geddy had a good time helping Scott and I rake the leaves that had been covered in snow for the last several months. Luckily we had got the majority of the them taken care of last fall before the snow hit, so our lawn is in decent shape. There's still tons of work to do, hopefully we will get some nice weather that will stick around for awhile.
We hope to get a small garden in this spring at least some carrots and beans and things like that. Geddy was very cooperative and helpful outside. As long as we're in the backyard he'll be no problem. The front yard isn't fenced so I worry about him wanting to stay by me. He is a bit big to take his playpen outside to contain him in. We'll just have to try and see. I just know there is no way I will get anything done if I have to only work during his naps, especially if I try and do other things like update this blog or e-mail anyone.
A week or so ago I gave Geddy his cup of yogurt which he usually eats quite nicely. He is generally not a very messy boy. I left the kitchen to start getting ready for work and this is what I came out to. I guess he decided he needed some extra conditioning and the strawberry/banana scent was quite nice also. As it was so close to me leaving for work I didn't have time for the whole bath process so I just held him under the shower, he wasn't very happy about that but it worked.
Recently Geddy has discovered how much fun play dough is. He is pretty good about not mixing up the colors too much. His favorite thing is to flatten the dough and use a little fork to "write" his letters. He knows about 10-12 of his alphabet letters to say (either proper name or sound they make), but he can't really write them, he just likes to pretend. His vocabulary is growing by leaps and bounds, with some odd word choices too. Yesterday's was yo-yo, thanks to Elmo's World on Sesame Street. A couple of days ago I asked what he wanted for breakfast and he told me very clearly "bowl" with a very exaggerated "o". It didn't take much to get that he wanted a bowl of cereal (Fruit Loops). Now that is what he says every morning, but he doesn't always get Fruit Loops, generally it is Cream of Wheat. Other recent words have been "knee" "bubble" and "now". The "now" is thanks to a lovely commercial on VS. for some fishing show, a guy gets mad and slams his fist on the boat and yells "NOW"! Geddy thought it was hilarious and started copying it immediately, slamming fist and everything. Unfortunately the commercial is showing quite often during the Stanley Cup Playoffs so we just mute the commercials so he doesn't notice it as much. It just goes to show what little sponges they are at this age, they absorb anything and everything, not all of it good.
And yes he has a bit of a black eye. Thanks to a Wal-Mart shopping cart and one of his exuberant games that involved bouncing his head off the handle. Silly boy!

I see he's got a rake obsession too :) That is all Nathaniel wanted to use in the garden @ Grandma & Grandpa's and at Great-Grandma's on the hillside!
Nathaniel plays that lovely game with shopping carts too - I'm waiting for him to do a tooth in with it!! He gets his black eyes other ways - last one was courtesy of his friend Cole...it's been a few months & Cole is coming over today - better keep an eye out for that!!
His hair looks so pretty in the last picture! I'm sorry about his bruise--no fun. Looks like you've been getting a lot done in the yard. I can't wait till we have a yard to do some planting in!
