Last Saturday we took a trip to Salt Lake City to see the Mummies of the World exhibit at the Leonardo Museum. It was kind of pricey but we thought it would be worth it for this once in a lifetime opportunity to see actual mummies from all over the world and all different time periods. I don't have any pictures as photography was not allowed. They made you pick specific time for your ticket so they could feed people in slowly and not have crowds of people inside. Well they failed at that. It was really crowded and cramped. We were already annoyed as finding parking was kind of a pain. We finally realized we had to park at the underground parking around the corner at the library and it was a pay parking lot. You think they could have included that in the ticket price. On the plus side when we finally went to leave there was a kiosk you were supposed to use if you were paying cash. it wouldn't work and that is all we had. So we got to the exit and told the attendant we only had cash. Since she couldn't take cash there she just opened the gate for us and we got free parking. That was kind of nice. While we were there we didn't check out any of the other exhibits because we were tired of the crowd and it didn't sound like they had anything too exciting.
The best part of the whole exhibit was towards the end. There were some more modern mummies and one was wearing his boots. Geddy immediately says, "Hey, it's like that Iron Maiden song... Die With Your Boots On". That kid just doesn't forget anything! The best part was, a couple next to us heard him and started laughing. Then as we were leaving Geddy wanted to sign the guest book. For name he wrote out all of our names then I added in the appropriate spot the city we live in. Then there was a spot where it asked what our favorite part was. Geddy being Geddy doesn't simply write the mummy with his boots on. He writes, "Iron Maiden! Die With Your Boots On!" and that's it.
