The Big 0-5!

Silly boy on his birthday morning!

Since his birthday was on a Wednesday we decided to pick up dad for lunch and take a picnic lunch to Rock Canyon Park (or as Geddy and I call it, Rattlesnake Park). We had cheesecake for dessert and he opened all of his packages from Mom and Dad.

Some new Legos!!!!!!

The dry erase board and crayons he had been asking for! (Great for travel, not so great for Church if he's wearing a white shirt, lesson learned).

What a handsome birthday boy!
More art supplies!
He saved the biggest package for last.
He sees the box and fears that Mommy and Daddy gave him a box of baby wipes.
And somehow I have lost the picture of what was actually in the box. It was a Star Wars plug-n-play video game. He loved it. I can't believe I lost it. His face was priceless when he realized it was something much better than baby wipes.

The day after his birthday we invited a few of his friends from church over for a little Pirate party! Thank you Aunt Carrie and Uncle Ben for coming down to have fun with us and help me!

Giving a lovely pirate face as he digs for buried treasure with Kendel.
Geddy, Kendel, and Braddock digging for jewels.
It is a bean bag toss that is supposed to look like a treasure chest. The bean bags were jewels. Geddy and I spent way too much time making this game, but it was so much fun.

Walking the plank!
Playing "Stick the Eye Patch on the Scurvy Pirate".
Getting ready for the Water Cannon Toss. Trying to defeat the pirates on the fence.
Some of the loot they all got, jewels from the sand pit and gold coins as prizes for the games.
The least successful Pirate Party Game - Musical Islands. And I had great pirate music too.
They decided to do a second round of treasure hunting.
The present table and the brown treasure chests were the kids goodie boxes they got to take home.

A lot of stuff on a small cake. He was insistent he wanted the number five and five candles (animal-striped as well as pirate decorations.
Thanks Kendel!
Thanks McKayla!
Thanks Braddock!

He was sad that three of his friends weren't able to make it. But I think he had a great birthday otherwise. He did get several gifts from grandparents and great-grandparents that were opened at different times. Thank you everyone!

Wow! It looks like it was such a fun party. Your backyard is so pretty and nice--I look forward to having one again someday! Very cute games and such a fun theme.
