Geddy started preschool at BYU this past September. He was super excited to go. He knew he had to have a new backpack for school. He chose this gigantic Transformers one.
He only used the backpack the first couple of weeks then he realized that he hardly ever brought anything home in it and it was kind of annoying carrying it around empty.
This is the outfit he chose to wear the first day. Sorry the pictures are a bit dark, our living room has terrible lighting and our computer struggles to load our photo editing program. But you can still see how adorable he is.
He had a bit of a tough time adjusting to preschool the first few weeks. Being around 19 other four-year-olds and five or six teachers for almost three hours straight every day was a big change from just being with mom. He is doing great now and says he is friends with everyone. His "best" friend changes every few weeks, but he plays with anyone and everyone. In fact the last week of school I went to pick him up before a little parent party they were having and he was "guarding Rapunzel's tower" for a couple of the girls who obviously had just watched Tangled. He is very entertaining at school, much like at home, and he loves having the audience of kids his own age. His favorite center is "creative play" which is basically just dress-up and pretend. The theme of the center changes every few weeks, it might be a store, or a pet shop, or a bakery or even a pirate ship. Geddy has made his own suggestions to the teachers of what it could be, "an airplane, a bookstore or even a hotel". Right now he is having preschool withdrawals as he is halfway through his four week holiday break.
I have many more pictures of him in preschool (taken unawares through the two-way mirror in the observation booth), but of course they are on the cell phone and we don't have the right card to transfer them onto. Some day!
