Swimming Lessons

So I had great intentions of showing Geddy's progress through swimming lessons here on the blog. However, camera/computer relations once again were strained and took a few weeks to get resolved. One of these days we will get a new computer with high-speed USB connections to make things work smoother.

Geddy did great at swimming lessons. One day he had a bit of a splashing problem (in the teachers face) and had to sit out a few times. However he straightened up and was pretty good the rest the time. He loved his teacher, Erika, and was quite sad when the last day came. He was thrilled to get a certificate and an Airhead candy bar though so that kind of made up for it.

Geddy was glad that Scott was able to go watch him a few days as were Grandma Cheryl, Aunt Shauna and Cousin Bob while they were visiting. (More on their visit in another post). I have taken Geddy back to the pool a few times since his lessons ended and I am amazed at how much more confidence he shows. He loves to jump off the edge and go all the way under.

The water is 3' in most places so he is able to walk around with his head completely above which he thinks is fabulous. He especially loves the lazy river - which isn't really "lazy". It is too crowded to relax through and there are a few places where buckets dump down on you so it is more like a bit of a ride. Geddy loves it though and is able to pretty much go on his own without mom having to hold on to him. He is already looking forward to next year and more lessons. Now onto soccer!
