Finally!

For quite some time, Geddy's four front teeth have been wiggly-wobbly, especially his top right one. He has been rather paranoid about losing them. However, today after church we came home and he said that he thought it was even wigglier. Sure enough I look and see that it is hanging down lower than the other teeth. So we tell him to just wiggle it back and forth until it comes out. After a couple of hours of occasional wiggling, he tried to pull it himself. There was a little blood so he freaked out and wouldn't touch it. So Scott and I both kindly offered to help pull it for him, but he was having none of that. In the midst of trying to calm him down from the little bit of blood, I told him the first one was the hardest and it was all part of growing up. To which he responded, "Growing up sure is hard!" FINALLY, he grabbed it and yanked and was completely stunned when it actually came out.

I asked him what he thought the Tooth Fairy was going to give him for his tooth. He said, "Money!" So I then asked him how much he thought it was worth. His response, "Well it is worth a million dollars to me, but she will probably only give me 25 cents."
This event was important enough to him that he decided to start writing in a journal he was given at church several weeks ago. If my scanner was working right now I would scan the whole page so you could see it. He kept going back to it and writing more throughout the evening, so it is quite long. I want to quote some of it because we think it is just too cute. Keep in mind he wrote it without any help at all so the spelling is not the best:

"I lost my fist tooth today. it was hard but I pold it all by my selth. I liket it. it was fun...But it was also sick." Then a little later he explains why it was sick: "Blood. Oh. No. There was BLOOD! But it stopt. Then there was a hole." After dinner he added the following: "It ben so werd and strage I can't Belev that I los my tooth. It's just unbelevabel!" Then one last line right before bed: "Now I am going to bed and hoping that the tooth farey coms."

I left a lot out from his journal entry, but I think you get the idea of his excitement and kind of how in awe he was of the whole process. I can't wait to read his entry after the Tooth Fairy comes.
