I know it has been ages since I posted anything. The past few weeks have been busy and time has gone way too fast. Geddy amazes us every day with his personality and attitude. He started using "no" quite frequently the past few weeks. I was dreading it because he already has so much attitude sometimes that I didn't think it would be a good combination with no. It is okay, he does tell me "no mama" when I ask him to pick up his toys. But I get him right back with "no treats until you pick them up, Geddy" and he picks them up, gets his treats and we're both happy.

Geddy's dreams came true last week when he got his very own basketball. A basketball he can bounce (not like a Nerf ball), one that has a bumpy texture and weight like Dad's basketball. Great-grandma Darlene had sent him $5 to spend when he went shopping with Mama. We went to Wal-Mart and he didn't want anything. I showed him cars, dinosaurs and books. He insisted he was getting a basketball. They only had big ones so we moved on to Toys R Us.
Again I showed him some other toys but being as he knows where the balls are at TRU, he headed right for that part of the store. Sure enough, he found miniature basketballs.

He was ecstatic and immediately started dribbling it around the store - Even though it usually got away from him after a couple of bounces. He handed his money over to the cashier in exchange for his beloved ball. Later as I am driving on to the next stop I hear all these funny sounds in the backseat. I look back and he is kissing his basketball. In fact, he kissed it so much and so hard he gave himself a bloody nose.

That night while Mama was at work he showed Dad how determined he was to master dribbling. He spent the entire evening doing nothing else. He didn't even want to eat dinner because he couldn't dribble from his high chair. By the end of the night he was able to bounce it 6 or 7 times before it got away. After a week of having the ball he has improved to about 10 bounces.

He also has to sleep with the ball (both night time and nap time) and take it in the car whenever we go anywhere. Luckily he is willing to leave it in the car as long as he can hold it the whole time he is in his car seat. Can we say
OBSESSED? Who knows how long this phase will last, but it is a cute one. And every day he shows us how coordinated he is (more so than his Mama). Enjoy the pics. Video coming soon.

Too funny! I looked at the pics on facebook yesterday. Isn't attitude fun :) Nathaniel's, thank goodness, is more of the clown variety right now. I'm getting ready to update our blog so you can see his expressions of personality there :)
